Transport for London (TFL) says a bus strike is planned on Tower Transit bust services on Friday 26 and Monday 29 August. While Tower Transit operates about 5% of London’s bus services, severe disruption is likely on a number of bus routes in our area including some routes which run into central London, with some services not running at all.
Day routes in East London which will probably be affected by the strike include:
- 25 – Ilford to Oxford Circus
- 30 – Hackney Wick to Marble Arch
- 58 – East Ham to Walthamstow Central
- 69 – Walthamstow to Canning Town
- 212 – Walthamstow to St James Chingford
- 236 – Finsbury Park to Hackney Wick
- 308 – Wanstead to Clapton
- 339 – Leytonstone to Shadwell
- 425 – Clapton to Stratford
- 444 – Turnpike Lane to Chingford
- 488 – Bromley-by-Bow to Dalston
- RV1 – Covent Garden to Tower Gateway
- W14 – Leyton to Woodford Bridge
- W15 – Cogan Avenue Estate to Hackney Town Hall
Night buses affected in our area include:
- N550 – Trafalgar Square to Canning Town
- N551 – Piccadilly Circus to Gallions Reach
Friday 26 August: The strike action will take place between 00:01 and 23:59. It will affect services during the day on Friday and night bus services operating on Friday night into the early hours of Saturday 27 August. Services during the day on Saturday 27 August should run as normal.
Monday 29 August: The strike action will take place between 00:01 and 23:59. It will affect services during the day on Monday and night bus services operating on Monday night into the early hours of Tuesday 30 August. Services during the day on Tuesday 30 August should run as normal.
