Tower Hamlets council has decided to run a public consultation on the opening of a new primary school on the site of the old Bow Boys School off Fairfield Road.
The council has said it might postpone the opening of a new school, which was originally earmarked for 2018. For people in the area with little ones who would be ready to start that year or beyond, that’s a real setback.
Friends of Bow Primary want to show the council how urgent the need for a new school/preschool are locally. To that end, they have set up a survey, and want those this would affect to have their say. It’s anonymous, but does ask for a postcode, so the group can work out where people are in relation to existing oversubscribed schools locally. The deadline is 1 October
