Thanks to everyone who came along and made our Grove Hall Park Great Get-Together such a fantastic day on Sunday 11 June. So good to see so many new faces!
Thanks also to everyone who made the day such a great event: we live in a fantastic neighbourhood with lots of community spirit and where people really do look out for each other.
Special mentions must go to Rachel W for spending the entire day face painting, pirate Diana and first mate Oscar for the icecreams and our amazing Bake-off judges Christoph and councilor Rachel Blake. But there were a host of other people who helped out distributing fliers, putting up posters, providing prizes, setting up and cleaning up and etc. (Ginny, David and Aline and girls, Michael and Lisa, Andy H, the Rice family, Natalie, Rachael C and Jo, Sheena). We also got some great stuff from the national Great Get-Together organisers including lots of stickers!
For those of you who don’t know, The Great Get-Together is inspired by Jo Cox, who was killed on 16 June 2016 and is inspired by her maiden speech to Parliament, where she said “We are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us.”
Here are just a few highlights from the day. If you have any photos you’d like to share, send them to info@fcara.org.uk, and we can add to this gallery.
