Have Your Say: Yet More Changes To East London Bus Routes

Please note this consultation has now CLOSED. We will update you when we know what the result is

Transport for London (Tfl) wants your feedback about plans to change the bus network to support the opening of the Elizabeth Line (aka Crossrail) by making sure more people can access the new stations by bus. It will also increase services in the Royal Docks Area where 25,000 new homes are going to be built.

It has opened yet another a consultation, which you can find HERE. The changes that will most affect us in East London can be found HERE.
The deadline for comments is Sunday 17 September 2017.

One of the biggest changes is a proposal to restructure route 25, so it runs less frequently and the service ends at Holbourn Circus. It would run with buses every seven to eight minutes during Monday – Saturday daytimes and every 10 minutes during evenings and Sundays. Route 25 currently runs between Ilford and Oxford Circus with buses every six minutes. The logic for this is that it wants to improve reliability and because it thinks demand for this bus route will fall when the Elizabeth Line opens.

TFL is also proposing rerouting route 115 between Commercial Road and Aldgate with two options:
Option one is via Jubilee Street, Stepney Way, Sidney Street and Whitechapel Road in both directions.
Option two is the same as option one but running via Stepney Way westbound only and Ashfield Street eastbound.

These would provide new direct bus links between Limehouse and Whitechapel Station where there aren’t any at the moment. These options would also take account of the increased residential development in the Whitechapel area. Route 15 and 135 would continue to provide sufficient capacity on Commercial Road.
