As usual we had an excellent array of amazing bakes in our competition at the Grove Hall Park Great Get-Together on Sunday 23 June.

Judges Rachel Blake (Bow East councilor) and Martin Coyle (cake lover) said they had an incredibly difficult task choosing a winner from the nine official entries, but Lucy Sutton’s Gin & Tonic cake pipped the others to the post, winning her the Star Baker prize. Lucy has kindly provided this link to the recipe on the Sainsbury’s website.

Runners-up were Sofia, Becky and Sally’s Anti-Gravity Cake and Christina’s Tropical Apple Cake. But all of our competitors were praised for their efforts, which were very much appreciated by our hungry picnic attendees!
