Following a  community consultation last year, the council is extending parking controls in Baldock Street, Jebb Street, Ridgdale Street and Wrexham Road, starting this week.

Parking will be resident permit holders only from 8.30am to 7.30pm Monday to Saturday, effective as soon as the new signs go up.

This compares with the old restrictions of 8.30am-5.30pm Monday to Friday. So parking restrictions are two hours longer each weekday evening and there’s now controlled parking on Saturday too. Unrestricted parking will only be Sundays.

Tower Hamlets Council says you do not need to make any changes to current permits, because these will remain valid.

If you have visitors on Saturdays from now on , remember to arrange a visitor’s permit or they risk getting slapped with a fine.
