As of last week, Dragados-Sisk Joint Venture has capped the Ham & Wick sewers at the Wick Lane/Wrexham Rd site, which means residents will no longer have to suffer the smell of the open sewer when they open their windows or sit in the garden. Hooray!
In other good news, from Monday 24 July all further work will be carried out within normal working hours (Monday-Friday 8am-6pm and Saturdays 8am-1pm). However there will be more lorries around Wick Lane and Wrexham Rd carrying aggregate and concrete to close up the sewer shafts.
The plan is to have the site returned to its original use (a carpark for the Brymay Close flats) by the end of November, if not sooner. This will include planting a screen of trees, and opening the footpath again.
