Transport for London is proposing changes to several bus routes which will affect residents in our area.
You can read all about the proposals on the Tfl website (click here) and use the online survey if you want. The deadline for comments is Sunday 20 March
108 – would be rerouted via route D8 between All Saints and Bow roundabout and at Stratford. This route wouldn’t take the A12 any more, but instead would go down Campbell Rd, Violet Rd and Chrisp St. Once it got to All Saints it would be back to its existing route.
D8 – would take the route currently used by the 108 between Blackwall Tunnel and Bow roundabout and at Stratford. Passengers heading toward Crossharbour would have to get on at the south side of Bow Church where the 108 stops now, go along the A12, then it would resume its normal route at All Saints. Heading north/east the last stop before the Bow roundabout would be Bow Interchange off Bromley High St. The bus would stop at Stratford bus station, not Stratford International.
277 – would be rerouted to Crossharbour and no longer serve Leamouth. Changes may also be made at the Highbury & Islington terminus.
135 – would be rerouted to serve more of the Isle of Dogs. Spindrift Rd would no longer have a bus service.
D3 – would be rerouted via route 277 to Leamouth and no longer serve Crossharbour
D7 – would run less frequently (every 8 minutes)

This is terrible. There was nowhere near enough publicity about this change. Large amount of residents living in the area can’t now get a direct bus route to Canary Wharf, one of the area most important employers.
Hi Emanuela – completely agree there wasn’t much publicity about this change. Notices were put up at bus stops along the routes, BUT the D8 stop outside Bow Church station was removed at that point for cycle superhighway works, so a lot of people affected would have missed it. I pointed that out to Tfl when I made my submission, as I am sure others did too
D3 is THE worst bus service running. Timings are it consistent, when it does finally arrive it sits in the same spot for far too long whilst impatient travellers are waiting right there!!
The d8 should go back to its normal route this is ridiculous
Lucifer, my understanding from the Tfl consultation at the time is that the D8 route was altered to prepare for the increase in housing around Three Mills and south of the Olympic park. At the moment the D8 service route seems pretty stupid – and it gets stuck at several pinch points in rush hour. A shame they changed it now and didn’t want until these developments were in place to assess need.
