We had a fantastic response to our Right Royal Big Bow Bake-off Competition, with lots of sweet treats for judging – and eating – at the Grove Hall Park Big Lunch on Sunday 12 June.
Thanks to our judges and cake lovers Michael (aka the Carmelite Cafe’s own Beanbeard) and Ridgdale Street’s very own Vicki, who took their role very seriously indeed. Cake is a serious business!
The judges said it was a tough decision but the ultimate winner was five year-old Maggie, who cooked up a storm with her Vanillicious cake. Mum Rachael says Maggie did the bulk of the baking herself, measuring and mixing… as you can see!
Michael and Vicki said as well as tasting great, Maggie’s decorating skills edged her cake out in front of runners up Lucy & girls’ Union Jack cake and Jinny’s chocolate banana cake.
